Students will explore how art can be used as a powerful tool for expressing dissent, raising awareness, and initiating change within society.
Structure:
Begin this activity by discussing the concept of protest and the different ways people express dissent against social, political, and cultural issues. The instructor may do so by showing examples of protest art from various time periods and regions, including works from movements such as civil rights, anti-war, feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, environmental activism, and so on.
