Objective:
Students will defend their artistic interpretations of one of the pieces in Day 4 of Cane using evidence from the text.
Structure:
This activity is a continuation of the "Drawing Cane" activity of Day 2 and is dependent upon successful completion of Day 4's homework. Divide students into groups based on which story or poem they chose to interpret. Have each member of the group show their interpretation to the rest of the group; without that person explaining the meaning, have the group discuss the piece and the artist's choices.
