    Long-term Project

    Objective:

    To understand Cyrano's place in popular culture and its relationship to other texts

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.9-10.1; CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.9-10.7; CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.9-10.9

    Structure:

    Cyrano has endured as an independent work, but by far its greatest impact has been as a source for adaptation. In this five-part, long-term project, students will choose an adaptation of Cyrano and study it in-depth, focusing on the intertextual links between their chosen adaptation, the original, and other adaptations. Seen in this way, Cyrano is a living text!
