Ending Scene Notes
Kind of Activity:
Creative Writing
Objective:
Students will be able to develop clear, persuasive and descriptive writing about the setting of the story.
Common Core Standards:
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.3.D
Structure:
Have students choose a scene in this section and write setting directions at the end (not unlike the traditional directions written at the beginning). Tell students that the objective is to create an image that expresses and enhances their interpretation of the way the scene ends (as opposed to the way it begins, as written by the playwright).
