Cath and Wren have very different feelings about starting college. Who do you identify with more?

Direct students to base their personal reflections in textual citation, pointing to evidence of Cath and Wren’s differences. Most high school students will have some feelings of anticipation about college, whether they tend more toward anxiety (like Cath) or excitement (like Wren.) Try to have students identify the specific causes of their fears and hopes about the college experience as a way of connecting to the characters from the beginning.
