Abigail Adam’s intervened on her husbands behalf in his quarrel with Thomas Jefferson. What was most impressive about this intervention?

I think many people overlook that Abigail Adams was her husband's intellectual match if not superior. She is credited for being a supporter of women's rights and urging her husband in certain decisions. She was a rebel and a maverick of sorts.
