    Much of what happens in Haroun can be interpreted as a metaphor for different aspects of the real world. What role might Moody Land play in this commentary about the real world?

    While one’s emotions don’t typically influence the weather, they can have an effect on nearby individuals and the way you perceive the world around you. If you’re vocally angry, others nearby might be defensive, upset, hurt, or angry as a result of your anger. You might see the world as a stormy, negative place even when the sun is technically shining on a beautiful day. Moody Land, in other words, illustrates the relationship between emotion and perception.
