“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?”
Dumbledore strives to teach Harry the importance of faith and trust, in others but especially in himself. The quote also alludes to its context in form, as although the Harry Potter stories are fiction, Rowling assures readers that their messages are real.
“Dumbledore watched her fly away, and as her silvery glow faded he turned back to Snape, and his eyes were full of tears.
"After all this time?"
"Always," said Snape.”
Snape's mistreatment of Harry, due to the rivalry between Snape and James Potter, never explained why Snape often protected Harry. this quote, and the scene that it comes from, reveals that Snape fell in love with lily and formed his patronus around her own in remembrance of her.
“Death's got an Invisibility Cloak?" Harry interrupted again.
"So he can sneak up on people," said Ron. "Sometimes he gets bored of running at them, flapping his arms and shrieking...”
Although the Harry Potter books cover a range of dark and important themes, such as death and loss, they are book aimed at a target audience of children to young adults. The humor and light hearted writing Rowling displays within quotes such as this allows young people to learn from the stories without being overwhelmed.
“Not my daughter, you bitch!”
Molly Weasley, easily the most kind heated and warm character in the book series, becomes a surrogate mother to Harry. Within the final battle she fights Bellatrix Lestrange one on one to protect her daughter, giving the most blunt and un-expectedly satisfying end to a hated antagonist such as Bellatrix through this quote and her victory.
“How do you feel, Georgie?" whispered Mrs. Weasley.
George's fingers groped for the side of his head.
"Saintlike," he murmured.
"What's wrong with him?" croaked Fred, looking terrified. "Is his mind affected?"
"Saintlike," repeated George, opening his eyes and looking up at his brother. "You see...I'm HOLEY, Fred, geddit?”
The Deathly Hallows is the darkest book of the series, covering war and loss through the eyes of the young. George refuses to let his injuries hurt his family, trying to lighten the mood through humor for the sake of his twin brother and his mother.
“You'll stay with me?'
Until the very end,' said James.”
