Bodie Kane
Bodie Kane is the protagonist and a thriving professor in podcasting. Bodie went through a troubling childhood and family tragedies, and she grieved the brutal murder of her best friend and roommate, Thalia. In her later years, Bodie is invited to go and teach in her former high school, Granby. Since Bodie has a special attachment to her school, where she graduated in 1995, she accepts to take the offer and uses it as an opportunity to investigate the death of her friend during their senior years at school.
Thalia
Thalia was Bodie's best friend and roommate. Unfortunately, Thalia was brutally murdered during her senior year in school. Evans Omar, the school's athletic trainer, was accused of the murder and imprisoned. However, later revelations showed that her boyfriend, who doubled as her male teacher, killed Thalia.
Evans Omar
Evans Omar is a Black man and an athletic trainer at Granby High School. Things turned out nasty for Omar when Thalia was found dead. After the incident was discovered, the school contacted the police, who came and arrested Omar because they accused him of the murder. However, Omar was innocent, but there was no adequate investigation to set him free. Later, he was convicted and sentenced to serve twenty years for a crime he never committed.
Mr. Lee
Mr. Lee is Bodie's driver when she returns to teach at Granby High School. Mr. Lee worked in Granby as a driver, and he knows that the children admitted there has a connection to parents who had schooled there in the past years.
