Objective:

To imagine a discussion of issues villagers in Ghalas-at face and decisions the tribal council must make after the battle with the Aleuts.

Structure:

Get students excited about this activity by letting them know that they can get creative in their interpretations of the characters. Before they begin the role-playing activity, ask two student volunteers to model reading a dialogue from the book, first without feeling and then with feeling, so that they see how getting into the character’s head is the key for successful role-play.
