Objective:

To learn about some of the animals native to the Channel Islands off of California (including sea elephants, cormorants, and foxes), students use classroom laptops to research the topic from at least two sources and write a summary of facts they learn about one of the animals.

Structure:

Explain the expectations (number of pages and potentially number of additional sources) and deadline for the research project. Then, present some sources that students can use as a first step in their research.
