How do Kevin's years in the 1800s affect him?
Kevin no longer knows how to live in the 1970s. After five years away, his home is unfamiliar to him. Dana mentions that they only lived in their house for two days before the madness with Rufus began, so it was not a familiar space to begin with. Kevin nearly breaks his typewriter in frustration. He jumps in panic when an airplane flies overhead. It seems he expected to adjust to his old life almost immediately, but Dana reminds him that he has to be patient with himself. Kevin seems unwilling or unable to hear that advice in the moment and needs some time alone.
