Dev Patel
Patel landed the role of Anwar Kharral in the BBC television teen drama Skins with absolutely no acting experience whatsoever. He played the role for two years, during which time he caught the eye of director Danny Boyle, who cast him in his movie Slumdog Millionaire, which garnered critical acclaim and a BAFTA nomination for Patel in the Best Actor category. He went on to star in the romantic comedy The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel four years later.
Lion is Patel's most successful movie, which earned him an Academy Award nomination and a BAFTA Award, both in the Best Supporting Actor category.
Rooney Mara
Rooney Mara's breakthrough into the mainstream movie industry came in 2011, when she was cast as tattooed and emotionally tortured hacker Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Actress category. Her second Oscar nomination came four years later when she received a nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category for her performance in the romantic drama Carol; she was also the recipient of the Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Award for this role. Her other films include Her, Pan, and Mary Magdalene.
Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman is an Australian actor who has won an Academy Award, five Golden Globe awards and two Primetime Emmies. She first came to prominence in the television mini-series Bangkok Hilton, which led to her first big Hollywood role a year later when she appeared opposite Tom Cruise in the car-racing movie Days of Thunder. In 2002 she won an Oscar for her portrayal of Virginia Woolf in The Hours, and has received three other nominations, including one for her performance as Sue Brierley in Lion.
Kidman was a member of the cast of the uber-popular television drama series Big Little Lies, for which she received a Prime Time Emmy in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series category. David Wenham
Wenham is best known in his native Australia for playing Diver Dan in the popular long-running television series SeaChange. Although he has tended to work mostly in the Australian film industry, Wenham played the role of Faramir in The Lord of the Ring Trilogy and co-starred with fellow Aussie Hugh Jackman in Van Helsing. He was also a castmate of Nicole Kidman in the musical film Moulin Rouge!
