Structure:

Miles is obsessed with Alaska, and best friends with the Colonel, but the other two participants in Barn Night are not very prominent in his account.

Takumi is the only prominent character of color in Looking For Alaska, and his characterization is pretty limited. The Colonel isn't as close to Takumi as he is to the Colonel and Alaska -- they don't spend a lot of one-on-one time together, and rarely have conversations...
