Love in the Time of Cholera is the fourth novel by Colombian writer Gabriel Marcia Marquez. A prolific writer of novels, novellas, screenplays, and short stories, Marquez is often best known for his contributions to the genre of magical realism. Though Love in the Time of Cholera is not considered to be within this genre, other major works of Marquez's that are include One Hundred Years of Solitude, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, and The Autumn of the Patriarch.
