Bringing in Technology

In the Day 1 activity, “Madame Butterfly and Racial Fetishism,” students watched one or more short videos on YouTube.

In the following activities—“Slut-Shaming Renee” (Day 2), “Colonialism and Imperialism: Gallimard and Toulon” (Day 2), “History Lesson: Mao’s Cultural Revolution” (Day 3), and “Film Adaptation” (Day 3)—students did the same.

In the Day 4 activity, “Song’s Blog,” students imitate the structure of a blog post and use the internet to research.

In the Day 4 activity, “Based on a True Story: Bernard Bouriscot and Shi Pei Pu,” students use the internet to conduct research and create a presentation on PowerPoint.
