My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry

My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry Analysis

Through the story of Elsa, the author is trying to explain to the readers how important it is not to judge people by their appearances. It is important to get to know people individually and to know their stories before jumping to conclusions as to who they are. Elsa learns this the hard way when she is given the task of seeking out people she was afraid of from her grandmother to give the certain letters.

Elsa also learns even more about her dear grandmother through the people she seeks out. This is another lesson the author is teaching; we learn more about ourselves when we get to know others in a proper way. This is because it is only through relations like friendships where we have people to contend with that we grow in personality.

Elsa’s parents are divorced and have not given her enough attention because of this. The author is indirectly explaining to the readers that children who grow up in broken homes often meet adversity in a way that is harsher because of the lack of the most important unity in life witch is a functioning family. It is as important for anyone to have someone close and trustworthy in life that can teach of their wisdom.
