emancipation

The process of being released/being set free from something.

leukemia

This is the cancer of the bone marrow, i.e. blood cancer. The body creates unusual white blood cells which do not work properly.

in vitro fertilization

This is where an egg is fertilised outside of the body

medical emancipation

This is where a minor is released from some sort of parental restrictions but still may not be able to make their own medical decisions and may have a limited guardianship by someone else.

power of attorney

This is written authorisation which allows someone to act on another's behalf regarding their private/other legal affairs.

remission

This is a temporary recovery/stoppage (of pain for example)

savior sibling

This is a child which is born for the specific purpose of donating/transplanting cells and/or organs to another child who is suffering from a serious illness such as cancer.

at a quality to make someone or something more exciting

Catheter

a tube inserted into the body to remove fluid

relating to the veins

skin becomes hot and red e.g. blushing
