How is the flash drive and Liam connected?
Cole, Liam's brother, had the flashdrive from the Leda Corp. He sewed the flashdrive in a jacket that Liam took by mistake. That is how the flash drive ended up in Liam's hands, and how/why we meet him in "Never Fade".

Why is Rob taking and/or killing PSI children?
From the information we get from the book, Rob was a skip tracer (a bounty hunter who captures PSI kids for money). Other than that, it is unclear why he is seen killing other PSi kids in "The Darkest Minds", but he is later killed when Ruby takes over his mind in a car crash.

Why did Ruby give back Liam's memories of her?
In the end of "The Darkest Minds", Ruby removes Liam's memories of her to protect him. However, when they meet in "Never Fade", Liam still has feelings for her, even though he doesn't understand why. It is then clear that Ruby didn't remove all the traces he had of her. Nonetheless, she feels bad and decides to give him back his memories. Instead of being grateful, Liam get's angry at her for making such an important decision without her.
