Number the Stars can be easily taught in conjunction with The Diary of Anne Frank. We've included a couple of suggestions for this in the Homework, but a full study of both texts together might make for an excellent, thorough, and age-appropriate curriculum on the Holocaust.
Other age-appropriate texts on the subject might include Marcus Zusak's The Book Thief, Jane Yolen's The Devil's Arithmetic, and John Boyne's The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.
