Students will research and report on one of the many references made in the text.

Structure:

"Pale Fire" is a poem full of references that students may not immediately recognize. Although we have touched on a few in our study of the text thusfar, undoubtedly there are many more that need clarification. Some examples include:

1. Hesperus
2. Socrates and Proust
3. Chapman's Homer
4. Goldsmith and Wordsworth
5. Sibyl (Greek)
