Students will understand the importance of the story of Exodus as a reference for the text.

Structure:
The story of Exodus is an important reference for Paradise. Students should be familiar with the elements of it in order to appreciate the novel. The fastest (and arguably the most engaging) way to do this is to introduce them to it in film form. There are multiple film versions of this story, but I would recommend, for length and accessibility, The Prince of Egypt, the animated film.
