Pariah (Film) Irony

Happy

Alike asks her father for advice on how to have a relationship. He gets excited, even proclaiming that he is going to look "him" up in the system. Ironically, Alike is asking about a girl not a boy.

Audrey

Audrey has concerns about her daughter; she's scared that Alike is gay. Ironically, she doesn't talk to her daughter about it at all, and merely prances around it and tells Arthur to do so.

Bina

Audrey sets Alike up with Bina in the hopes that she will stop hanging out with Laura and create a relationship with someone who she believes is straight. Ironically, Bina becomes Alike's love interest.

Sharonda

Sharonda gives her sister a hard time, making fun of her for being gay constantly. Ironically, she tells her sister in a private moment that it doesn't matter to her if she's gay or not. Though she may hurt her sister's feelings, she cares deeply for her.

Just Friends

Bina and Alike spend the night together, and Alike is given the impression that they are a couple. Ironically, Bina says she isn't really gay and doesn't want anyone to know about what happened between the two of them.
