Why does Munira spend his time drafting statements and manifestos? Are these documents different from the confessions he makes throughout Petals of Blood? What purpose do they serve?

Although not all of Petals of Blood is told in the first person, much of it is, and students should recognize that Munira may be an unreliable narrator. By drawing connections between his confessions and the statements he writes in prison, students will be more aware of the way Munira tries to tilt the narrative in his favor.
