Modernism
Modernists argue that people operate on indispensable narratives such as mythology which bring together them. Satirically, postmodernists are of a contradictory opinion because they reject the assumptions of meta-narratives. Postmodernism bases its ideas on reality and empirical data, making society more aware of what is happening around them. Therefore, postmodernist ideologies reject truth claims that are not based on facts.
Corporate capitalism
Corporate capitalism was viewed as the best economic model to steer the economy forward compared to previous models. Ironically, corporate capitalism placed wealth and resources in the hands of a few individuals and businesses, which subjected millions of citizens to poverty. The few powerful corporate businesses and individuals influenced policymaking to favor their dealings while leaving most citizens with no say.
The irony of culture
Before modernism, art culture was a vital component of society, and people highly valued their customs and way of doing things. However, the introduction of media, architecture, film, and visual arts destroyed the people's culture. Ironically, a culture that is a very vital part of humanity can easily be erased by the new emerging technology.
Hegelian Dialect Model
According to the author, the Hegelian dialectical model was superior in the past, and it was used as the basis of setting economic standards which defined postmodernism. The economists believed that the Hegelian dialectical model was superior and no other model could emerge in the future. Ironically, this status quo was confronted by new competitive ideas in later years led by Marxists and Engels. Therefore, capitalism is the product of this new competitive idea, in which individuals and firms are given a conducive business environment to create wealth and create jobs.
Loss of identity
Individual identity is a vital part of humanity, and people always associate themselves with their traditions and culture. Satirically, the improvement in technology and capitalist ideas are evading this vital part of humanity. For instance, the business environment is very competitive, requiring individuals to only concentrate on fitting in the economy while forgetting to appreciate their traditions and culture. Therefore, people have lost their identity for remaining relevant and competitive in the speedy world that is focused on the accumulation of physical resources.
