Some students may agree with Botard that there is some kind of conspiracy; even those who don't should now begin to recognize that the rhinoceros is a symbol. Discuss with the students what the rhinoceros might be a symbol of—are rhinoceroses "taking over"? What would that mean? Are all the rhinoceroses therefore people? What might cause someone to change into a rhinoceros?
