Consider other works about survival and/or adventure, such as Swiss Family Robinson, The Mosquito Coast, Kidnapped and Treasure Island. Books that are specifically about survival on an island include The Mysterious Island, by Jules Verne, The Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, The Beach, by Alex Garland, and J. M Coetzee's Foe, which is a reimagining of the Robinson Crusoe story. Many of these stories also deal with the journey and themes of isolation and idealism of a life away from society, whether it was chosen or forced.
