Why does the Nurse respond as she does to Juliet's question?
It's possible that she truly believes Paris is the better man, that she's dismissed Romeo since he killed Tybalt. It is equally possible that she now senses danger for Juliet, understands that she's so in love as to endanger herself, and wants to protect Juliet from the problems that could arise. She knows Juliet is impulsive and naive, and might be helpless against her parents' anger, or might do something drastic in response to her feelings for Romeo.
