Structure:
Ask how many students had heard of Romeo and Juliet before they began reading it in class. It's likely that many of them will have; talk about the story's enduring truths and the way different people may have experienced it in different times.
Go on to explain that many filmmakers, in different time periods, have adapted Romeo and Juliet. You'll be viewing excerpts from three films, made in 1968, 1996, and 2013, and discussing in small groups the differences between them.
