The symbolism of humanity

The Heywood family’s actions towards Mr. Parker’s family symbolize humanity. When Mr. Parker and his wife are involved in an accident at the hilltop in a coastal county, they are stranded and do not know what to do next because their carriage is destroyed. Luckily, the Heywood family comes to their rescue and gives them accommodation and other supporting amenities until their carriage is repaired to enable them to continue with their journey.

Mr. Parker (a symbol of success)

Mr. Parker is a dynamic businessman determined to transform Sanditon into a tourist hub despite being a small dot on the map. After a few years, Mr. Parker and his business partner transform Sanditon into a tourist destination. Mr. Parker achieves his vision by installing bathing machines to attract visitors. Consequently, Mr. Parker is an emblem of success and determination because he proves to readers that nothing is impossible.

The people of the city of Sanditon

The people of the city of Sanditon symbolize cooperation and lack of focus. When Charlotte arrives in the city, she quickly gets acquainted with people. During her conversations with people, Charlotte realizes that most people do not know the city's history, and they do not know where it will be in the coming years. The transformation of Sanditon was purely the idea of Mr. Parker. The people are not focused on taking the city to the next level of success. Charlotte thinks that Sanditon can be the best city to live in if only the residents cooperated and worked as a team.

Charlotte Heywood

Charlotte Heywood is a symbol of trust. When Mr. Parker and his wife got involved in an accident, Charlotte trusted them and requested her family to host them until they recover. Later, Mr. Parker and his wife requested Charlotte to accompany them to Sanditon. Charlotte trusted Mr. Parker's family and accompanied them to their city. In the city, Charlotte shaped her personality and experiences by interacting with different people. Therefore, through trust, Charlotte was able to experience a new world and become a better person than she was initially.

The carriage

The carriage symbolizes a bridge that takes one to their destiny. When the Mr. Parker’s get an accident, their carriage is damaged, implying that they cannot proceed to Sanditon in its current state. Mr. Parker and his wife stay in the Heywood family as they wait for the carriage to be repaired. After the carriage is repaired, Mr. Parker and his wife proceed to Sanditon to execute the mission of making the city a great tourist destination.
