Students will be able to understand the emotional impact of Shakespeare's sonnets

Structure:
Divide the students into pairs. Working together, they should select two sonnets that are not traditionally paired together (i.e. not next to each other in the traditional sonnet collection) but that seem to be responding to each other — for example, one spoken by a jealous lover and the other responding to a lover's jealousy. Are Shakespeare's emotions so universal that they can be generalized this way?
