Why does Lin feel responsible for the cholera epidemic?
A week before the outbreak, no one in the slum had needed Lin's help with any medical issues. He'd celebrated like he'd cured the slum forever. After cholera comes, he feels guilty for his pride, complacency, and arrogance for opening a clinic at all. He also felt guilty that Radha had been horrifically sick for two entire days before he even knew about it because he'd been spending time with tourists in fancy hotels and earning money. While he logically knows he could not have stopped cholera from breaking out, he feels overwhelming guilt and responsibility nonetheless.
