Sharp Objects Irony

Situational Irony: Suicide

Camille's roommate killed herself not by cutting herself (something which she regularly did), but by drinking an entire bottle of Windex.

Situational Irony: Illness

Camille's line "Sometimes I think illness sits inside every woman, waiting for the right moment to bloom..." is deeply ironic because, beyond it not being true, Camille's illness' lasted for much of her life.

Situational Irony: Camille's Story

Camille is tasked with discovering the truth about the murders, but she is so deeply troubled herself that seeing such terrible violence will likely put her over the edge.

Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy

Adora's Munchausen syndrome by proxy is ironic: she hurts the people she loves by making them, for example, sick.

Situational Irony: Adora

Despite the fact that Adora makes Camille's life incredibly difficult, Camille still supports her and carries on a relationship with her.
