    In what ways does Angel's higher class differentiate him from the other milkers at Tabothays?

    Although Angel does all the same tasks as the the other milkers, Angel is set apart both by others' behaviors towards him, and outward signifiers of his education and upbringing. He sleeps in his own large room in the attic, sits at his own table at breakfast, and is addressed by Mr. Crick as "sir." His education is apparent in speaking with him; there are several moments when Tess does not understand his references. The milkers all sing, but Angel is the only one who plays an instrument.
