First, we have to copy the angle twice, with $\overline{AB}$ as one side and A and B as the vertices.
With your compass mark an arc to intersect both sides of $\angle 1$ (at $P$ and $Q$). With the same radius, mark another arc with the center of point $A$ to intersect $\overline{AB}$ (at point $E$) and the future $\overline{AC}$ side. Mark an arc to measure the distance from P to Q. With the same radius mark an arc from point $E$, and intersect the other arc. The point of intersection will be point $O$ Connect $O$ and $A$ to get the other side of the angle.
Now, we have to repeat this procedure but with B as the vertex ( as shown in the picture).
The intersection of the two other sides of the angles will be the vertex $C$ of the triangle.
