To see if points A, B, and C, are collinear, we will determine wether the slope of BA is the same as the slope of BC. We will need to use the slope formula to do so. Point A (-2,-6) will represent our x1 and y1 values making x1 = -2 and y1 =-6 Point B (1,-2) will represent our x2 and y2 values making x2 = 1 and y2 = -2 Simply plug these values into the slope formula: (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) When plugged in it looks like this: (-6-(-2))/-2-1 which is equivalent to 4/3. You are going to the same thing B and C. After doing so you will find that the slope of that line is 1. Since the two slopes are not congruent to eachother. These points are not collinear.
