The primary vesicle of the brain are the forebrain or prosebcephalon, the midbrain or mesencephalon, and the hind brain or rhombencephalon. During the 5th week of development the prosencephalon differentiates into telencephalon and diencephalon. The rhombencephalon also forms secondary vesicles, the metencephalon and the myelencephalon.
