The left trigeminal nerve(V) carries most of the sensory stimulifrom the left side of the face into the pons.

Most --but not all -- of the tacttile, thermal and pain sensations fro the face , nasal cavity, oral cavity and teeth, ascend to the thalamus from the pons via the trigemino-thalamic pathway. But they are carried int the pons by the trigeminal nerve( Vth cranial nerve). Some axons of first order neurons synapse with second order neurons in the pons on the same side. Axons of other first order neurons descend to the medulla to synapse with second order neurons. . The second order neurons cross to the medulla and pons of the opposite side before ascending in the trigemino-thalamic tract to the thalamus.
