Answer

In the reaction catalyzed by ATP synthase in which ADP and a phosphate ion are combined to produce ATP, the substrates(reactants) are adenosine diphosphate(ADP) and an inorganic phosphate(Pi). The product is adenosine triphosphate(ATP) . Water is eliminated ( deydration synthesis) during the reaction--this may or may not be considered a product. In this reaction energy is absorbed rather than being released . Therefore this is an endergonic reaction.
