Other structure help in the process of digestion, absorption and movement of food, but are regarded as helping or accessory structures. The structures usually included in this latter (secondary) group are teeth, tongue, salivary glands, the liver, the gall bladder and the pancreas.

These functions are handled mainly by the so- called digestive organs.
