Chapter 4 - The Tissue Level of Organization - Checkpoint - Page 121: 9

Answer

Endothelium and mesothelium are two types of epilthelial tissue that cover and line surfaces and organs in the body. Endothelium is found mainly in the lining of blood vessels and other tubular organs. Like mesothelium, endothelium is a single layer squamous epilthelial tissue, but mesothelial cells tend to be larger than the cells of endothelial tissue. Endothelial cells produce secretions that affect blood pressure and coagulation

Work Step by Step

Mesothelium covers the surface of organs and also presents as a simple squamous epithelium . It is found in pleura, peritoneum, pericardium. It lines internal body cavities and covers internal organs like the lungs, heart, and small intestines
