Impetigo is a skin infection caused by Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pyogenes (group A Streptococcus). It is characterized by yellowish crusts on the legs, arm and face. Sometimes large blisters can be seen on groin or armpits. When impetigo spreads to lymph nodes erysipelas occurs.
