Anne Tyler is the author of twenty-two novels, including Pulitzer Prize finalist Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant (1982), and Pulitzer Prize winner, Breathing Lessons (1989). She has also written numerous short stories and two children's books with her daughter, Mitra Modarressi.
Tyler's work has been compared to John Updike in its realism and portrayal of everyday American life. She has called Eudora Welty a major influence on her writing.
