The Cellist of Sarajevo recounts the Bosnian War and the Seige of Sarajevo. As such, there are depictions of snipers attacking unarmed citizens, multiple bombings, and a great loss of life. This material may be triggering to some students, particularly students for whom these events may be part of their family history. The teacher should warn the class ahead of time about each of these occurrences and remind students to discuss these events with sensitivity and from historical perspectives.
