The Christmas Pig Symbols, Allegory and Motifs

The symbolism of a dysfunctional family

The author figuratively uses jack’s family to represent a dysfunctional family. For instance, Jack is a broken boy because his family is not functional. Jack's father is an absentee was is not present to play the role of father figure. Similarly, after satisfying her interests, Jack's mother gets remarried to another man forgetting to pay maximum attention to her son.

The Land of the Lost

The Land of the Lost is an emblem of restoration. Despite Jack and Christmas Pig's challenges in locating Dur Pig, the Land of the Lost is desperately yearning to give out all the things tossed in it. Therefore, despite the challenges people go through, the author indicates hope at the end of the tunnel.

The symbol of companionship

After Jack loses his toy called Dur Pig, he becomes unhappy and lonely. However, after Jack gets his new toy called Christmas Pig, he becomes happier and rejuvenated. The Christmas Pig is friendly, and he helps Jack know that Dur Pig is in the Land of the Lost. Additionally, Christmas Pig accompanies Jack to the Land of the Lost to retrieve Dur Pig.

Loser as a symbol of obstacles

The author strategically uses the character Loser to symbolize people's obstacles as they struggle to achieve their missions. For instance, when Jack and Christmas Pig gets into the Land of the Lost, Loser becomes their member one threat because he eats everything. Therefore, Jack and Christmas Pig are scared of their lives.
