Objective:
Students will be able to infer meaning from the text and draw on explicit and implicit meaning to define qualities of the setting.

Structure:
Discuss the idea of a place having a certain kind of character. Ask students to explore what qualities define a place's character. (Consider using the word "spirit" instead of character to help elicit qualities that go beneath the surface.)
