What is Ichabod’s reaction to the farm and what insight into his character does this provide?
Ichabod was tremendously impressed by the grandeur of the farm and the house. He first imagined all the animals as food, then pictured himself as the owner. It seems he is more interested in this than in Katrina herself. Some students are likely to believe that this reflects poorly on Crane.
