Frodo faces much opposition on his quest as the Dark Lord Sauron hunts for his lost ring of power. The ring causes many problems for the fellowship because it holds the power to draw people in and to bring out the worst in them. This is especially true of Boromir, a member of the fellowship, as he attempts to steal the ring from Frodo in order to save his kingdom Gondor. This scene shows not only the temptation of power, but also the strength and persistence needed to be honorable and heroic.

Firstly, it is important to note the power the ring has over both Boromir and Frodo. It has control over everyone and no one is exempt from its power.
