Why do you think Miig tells Frenchie his coming-to story?

Miig is trying to get Frenchie to understand why it is important to withhold certain information from the group. By telling him his story, Frenchie can then better understand why he makes the decisions he makes, instead of Frenchie looking at him like a distant and confusing authority figure.
