Character Tweets

Objective:
Students will be able to analyze characterization through tweeting.
Common Core Standards:
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.3
Structure:
In this activity, students will create tweets as a specific character from one of the stories in the “Tales of French Life” section.
To begin this activity, explain to students that social media is a way to express oneself creatively. While Maupassant’s characters did not have Twitter (www.twitter.com), the author has created interesting, dynamic characters that could use Twitter in interesting ways. Explain to students how Twitter works. Each post is 140 characters or fewer....
